Buckethead (2008)

Audience recording of a Buckethead show in Pittsburgh. Recorded from mid-rear on a hand-held Zoom H4. Not the optimum position or method but it’s surprisingly okay.

The Flower Kings (2008)

Audience recording of The Flower Kings Pittsburgh. Recorded from house right on a handheld Zoom H4. It came out really quiet and a bit dull sounding, but the band OK-ed it for posting.

Taikokan Drum Museum, Tokyo (2017)

I surreptitiously recorded a visit to the Taikokan Drum Museum. It was recorded with a Hooke Audio binaural microphone into an iPhone (listen with headphones.) You can hear people in the background, talking and hitting drums while I walk through and systematically try  every instrument available to play. Some of the biggest drums were too much for the Hooke– the low frequencies overloaded the mic and distort the recording. I left the recording untouched, warts and all.

Night Market, Taipai (2017)

Binaural recording walking through the night market, recorded using a Hooke Audio microphone into an iPhone (listen with headphones.) There are few edits to get rid of English conversations.
