Laptop Connections

Laptop Connections was a performance/installation that took place in the Masarykovo Railway Station in Prague.  Organized by the OISTAT Sound Working group, the event was meant to be a collaboration between a group of Sound Designers physically in Prague sharing sounds via the internet with partners around the globe.  The goal was a collaborative sonic event with participants from around the world moving sounds back and forth with live amplification at the Prague end.   Five groups of Sound Designers gathered in the Masarykovo Railway Station on Monday afternoon, armed with laptop computers and small self-powered speakers.  They were to be connected via wireless internet to their partner(s).    Unfortunately, the internet connections were intermittent at best so the event turned into five solo sound performances with little bits of exchange with the outside participants.
