Noteworthy Theremin Recordings
- Nine Inch Nails: AND ALL THAT COULD HAVE BEEN - On the song "Sin". You can see it being played on the DVD.
- Clara Rockmore & Nadia Reisenberg: THE ART OF THE THEREMIN - The classic recording by the undisputed master of the instrument.
- Bernard Herrmann: THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL - Soundtrack to the classic SF film. The famous "ooo-eee-ooo" science fiction theremin lick.
- Aimee Mann: LOST IN SPACE - "Real Bad News" also has a pile of odd quirky keyboards like the Casio SK1, SK5 and CZ1000.
- Bonzo Dog Band: KEYSHAM - "Noises From The Leg" is most interesting for the fact that their theremin was built into a mannequin leg, thus the title.
- The Dukes of Stratosphear (aka XTC): CHIPS FROM THE CHOCOLATE FIREBALL - "Pale and Precious" is their Beach Boys homage so it's "Good Vibrations" all around.
- The Eels: BEAUTIFUL FREAK - The liner notes state E plays "Uli Nomi" theremins exclusively (Uli Nomi is the pseudonym Roger Manning uses in The Moog Cookbook). "Mental" has the most obvious theremin playing.
- Coil: ASTRAL DISASTER
- Download: THE EYES OF STANLEY PAIN
- Roque Banos: THE MACHINIST - Lots of theremin played by Lydia Kavina in the soundtrack to this film. Very Herrmannesque score, though the theremin actually calls to mind SPELLBOUND, which was scored by Rozsa.
